when i hold her in my dreams she crys when i close my mind, her halo blinds me her eyes filled with white roses wither down with lost faith now as i breathe my lips crack with dust as i walk through the streets filled with fools she haunts me hesitating once more i pray i can't lie as she hits me as she spits as she hurls as she looks me straight in the eye and declares herself the queen i can't lie she haunts me

today i woke up sucking my thumb got up, got dressed the mundane routine stumble out to the street again strangers eagerly waltzing by me grey, everything is grey the clouds look dark and heavy like they want to rain but can't they speak to me but no one understands they sing to me like a small town church choir they tell me of their hopes and dreams one wants to be our own messiah they tell me everything but people don't understand the clouds tell me they want lightning to release them, jolt them into life i offer to be their antenna push my arms up to the sky i tense up for the bolt but it never comes the clouds still
